Venetian blinds - different types for different rooms
August 20, 2009
Contrary to what people might choose to tell you and to what you may choose to believe, there is a Venetian blind style for every kind of room in your home. Venetian blinds are available in a number of different materials and also in various styles, keeping in mind their functionality and their uses in different rooms. Venetian blinds may be used in the following areas as follows:
- In kitchens: The kind of Venetian blind that would be preferable would be aluminium or even PVC. Full fabric Venetian blinds would not be preferable in the kitchen as these areas are prone to moisture, smoke and other elements. Moisture, especially from the splashing water from sinks and wash basins in these areas calls for blinds which may be cleaned easily. The natural choice, keeping such a thing in mind has to be PVC or aluminium.
- In bedrooms: Here, any style of Venetian blinds could do well, as there is no real danger due to moisture. Aluminium, or PVC or even fabric Venetian blinds in conservative colours would be sure not to override the scheme of your bedroom décor.
- In children’s rooms: Pastel coloured aluminium Venetian blinds are sure to keep the heat out of the room. Using roof lit ventilation for your children’s room could make for an excellent idea as well, as this would add a very magical appeal for the child and make their room extra special.
Venetian blinds are a different kind of window treatment from curtains, and for purposes of functionality need to be cleaned and maintained regularly. Fire prone areas should not use fabric blinds and should use aluminium blinds instead.
