Wood effect blinds are made from 25mm aluminium slats and are finished
off so they look like real wood slats. They have some distinct advantage
over real wood venetian blinds. The main feature is that aluminium slats
are very thin less than 1mm, therefore when you pull all the slats up
to the top of the window the slats will probably take up 3 – 4 cm
where they stack up at the top. With real wood blinds this is not the
case because the slats are much thicker normally about 3mm, when you lift
all of the slats to the top of the window, they are going to hang down
between 12 – 20cm , this is called the stack. Also venetian blinds
are made from aluminium therefore they are much lighter and easier to
operate.
